Our First Meeting Through the Eyes of the Coordinator's Team

I don’t want to throw around any fancy pancy words which hold no meaning to anyone but bureaucrats so let me tell you this…
All 3 teams (Portugal, Spain, Lithuania) found their way to their coordinator’s country, the Czech Republic (also known as "the country of Dumplings which want to kill you" and "the country of many a liquid treasure" – but that’s a different story). And since the day they arrived they started to learn a lot about the Czech culture and all the things which they should take into account once they bring the children in.
Of course, the meeting included intensive brainstorming sessions in the mornings – we had to decide some important dates and competences for each team after all! I’m glad to say no one died in the process, there were no injuries nor did anyone faint.
After the not so popular lunch breaks in school canteen (dumplings, anyone?) we decided to show our partners some of the locations which will play key roles in the last meeting which will again take place in the Czech Republic. I believe I heard some jaws drop at the sight of Český Krumlov, the many lakes in our district, and our mild autumn temperatures which are unheard-of for those who came to our country right from the beach.
As many have learnt, the best way to see all the Czech water is from a tower, which somehow resulted in a new hobby for someone (don’t want to point at anyone and unravel their identity *cough* José *cough*). So maybe, we will hear about a famous tower climber from Portugal one day. So don’t forget where it all started! ;-)
The days grew shorter and shorter (or longer and longer - damn you, relativity!- at least for some of us who are used to having at least 7 hours of sleep as opposed to those from the South who seem to have no need of sleep at all) and our meeting had to come to an end.
Surely, we’d like to keep our partners here for longer because they all were awesome and supportive but we have to pass our imaginary baton to the next team who will meet the first real challenge – can you entertain a bunch of pre-teens and teens in February and make them explore our topic, Portugal? The ball is in your court now... (See what I did there? Tennis and running! There are other sports apart from football!) ;-)

Feedback from the Potugese Team

Last week a team of portuguese teachers from Agrupamento de Escolas José Sanches e SVB - Alcains, visited their colleagues at Základní škola Františka Křižíka Bechyně, Czech Republic.

It was the start of a new Erasmus+ project, WAU – Water Around Us, with the 1st transnational meeting, a greatful productive time.

We were all very pleased with our czech colleagues kindness and professionalism as with all other colleagues from the different countries represented.

We look forward to the next meetings where we all be working again together with our students, to whom we wish to provide another enriching experience.

Best wishes to all of you.

See you soon in Portugal

Big hug from the portuguese team
